a combination of our past
experiences and beliefs can
impact the way we are in the world

Rodewell is the brainchild of Rowena and Delene, who met while training to become Biodynamic Psychotherapists. They were drawn to working with the Biodynamic tools to reach a wider audience and facilitate exploration and expression and invite in a new sense of personal equilibrium.

Rodewell was born from this desire to make something transformational accessible to everyone.

Rowena Shingler

Having known from a young age that I wanted to be a psychotherapist, life then took me on a journey of experience to bring me to today.

I have had many hats throughout my life; teacher, trainer, manager, builder and parent. All of these person-centred careers have added to the different aspects of what I bring as a therapist.

I came to Biodynamic work through my own personal therapy journey, where I realised how much the body was linked to the mind. I have always had a difficult relationship with my body and a sense of ‘is that it?’ despite having all the outward signs of a fulfilling life. Years of ‘talking’ therapy left me feeling there was a piece of the jigsaw missing, which I realised through body psychotherapy was an embodied sense of myself.

Wishing to share this experience and realising that not everyone wants to undertake long term therapy, Delene and I talked of creating a space where people could experience the gentle, accepting, organic process that is Biodynamic-the movement of life.

I am a London based qualified Dance teacher, Massage Therapist and trainee Biodynamic Psychotherapist.
I have always had a love of active pursuits and am filled with wonder about the world having travelled extensively. A cooking enthusiast and allotment holder, I hope to one day use all my acquired skills to run a healing retreat centre, somewhere warm and tropical.
I’ve had a professional career dancing with various companies before training as a teacher and growing into this career. As a teacher I value developing creativity and expression within the participants. Working across age ranges and skill levels is one of my strong points.
My constant companion ‘the body’ has always been in my work. It’s my place of safety and understanding. I am passionate about empowering people to feel confident in their own bodies and love challenging people to see the magic they have within. This has been enhanced by my training in Biodynamic Psychotherapy, which has been life changing.
It is the bridge that has brought my collective skills together and I look forward to sharing them with you!

We both offer individual therapy, if this is of interest to you please get in touch via our contact page.
